Just a heads up that I’m going to be a little busy today. I think I’m ready for the challenge. I’ve done my stretches and had five Red Bulls. Please root for me as I take on Costa Rica…
I think my biggest challenge will be passing the ball to myself.

Well, if I’m being perfectly honest, I didn’t watch the game. Even though I’m Dutch, I spend more time reading your blog than watching soccer, or any sport…come to think of it, I don’t even have a TV;)
(so I really was rooting for Ned, just not the way most Dutch people would.)
Ah, that word again. Over here, down under, root has an entirely different meaning and while I know yours, I will support you, and hope there are not too many off sides, but root for you, no way!
I think I get the gist of what “root” means in Aussie. We had an Australian exchange student in school who kept asking for a rubber, which he explained was an “eraser” in Aussie; In the U.S., it is slang for “condom.” Needless to say, most of the students at my school started asking their teachers for rubbers on a regular basis…
Ned, you’ve always been a little off-side. It’s only about the degrees for today, but then we’re just moving into quibbling, not dribbling,.territory. Ole, ole, ole ole ole, SCORE!
Did you win???
I see this was from several days ago…have you come down off the rafters yet? For me one Red bull=7 fun-filled days of heart palpitations and a very clean house.
Yes, I WON! Then I played as goalie for Brazil and… well, it didn’t go well for them. But it’s going to be Ned vs Germany in the finals, so I’m resting up π
I’m definitely rooting for Ned right now;)
Thanks, Arend! I think you put me over the top, on that head-goal I mean.

That said, you’re welcome!;)
I’ll take support any way I can get it, even though you did miss my several amazing passes to myself.
Well done, Ned….you won!!!!

Ned…were you in goal for Brazil today?ππ
Was it that obvious? I’ll be on my game against Germany.

Ahh, rubbers. Been a while since I be heard that one. Love the English language and all its idiosyncrasies.
Idiot. *said with much affection and accompanied by a noogie* *hoping you know what a noogie is*
Thanks for the affectionate noogie, Steph! π

I’m not sure if you saw, but I beat Costa Rica, then ran around swinging my jock strap over my head. I took them off first, of course…
