Being a journalist, I am bringing you Academy Awards updates and observations throughout the evening LIVE! As they happen!
On my television…
Does anyone else find it ironic that the Outstanding Achievement in Sound award went to Gravity, a move that takes place in space — where there IS no sound?
I snoozed through that award. Not very nice of me. But I did enjoy the group photo Ellen took a little while ago. Brad Pitt appears to be a photobomber.
That doesn’t surprise me; That you dozed off, I mean. Brad even showed up in a family photo from my daughter’s graduation.
Boy, give a guy a pretty face, and he thinks he can show up anywhere.
That explains why I keep a low profile… 😉
Reblogged this on Ice Mountain Pictures.
Of course, the outstanding achievement in Gravity Award goes to Jupiter…
*Snort* 😉
Astounding, Ned! Gravity is the only movie I saw of the bunch. I have no cable, so I appreciate all your updates!
We just saw it last night. It’s been weighing heavy on my mind, so I was glad to see it win so many awards.
How many did it win?
8 out of 10 I believe. Plus they threw in an extra Oscar just because.
Impressive!
Thank you! I really enjoyed the movie Gravity, but throughout it I was wondering about all the sounds I heard…It’s good to hear you make the same point!
As much fun as I poked at Gravity, my wife and I watched it Saturday night and thought it was pretty fantastic. I’m not sure it deserved all the awards it got, but it definitely deserved the nominations. No doubt someone is already working on a sequel, where George Clooney is found alive and living in Darth Vader’s T.I.E. Fighter.
Well, there’s this new Star Wars movie coming up…so perhaps they could do a cross over?
There’s clear potential there. For liable, anyway.
In space, no one can hear you suck.
That sounds like a porn version of “Alien.”
Hmmm…
Maybe Vivid Video is hiring screenwriters. Think I have a shot?
You have more than a shot. And I don’t mean that in a bodily fluids kind of way.
the challenge was a tough one and involved getting everyone to be silent at the same time, on the entire set. similar to what i encounter when trying to get my entire kindergarten class to be silent at the same time on our circle rug.
Peach Schnapps in their milk wouldn’t hurt. Apparently it worked for Kim Novak.
amen, brother
You said exactly what my 17 year old daughter said. Of course, we both wished that Bette Midler was singing from space….
Did you ever know that you’re my hero?
AUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
That’s amazing! I heard Gravity won a bunch of awards, but since I haven’t seen any of the movies, I wouldn’t have an opinion on what might or might not be better.
I did see Gravity, and it was really terrific. I’m just not sure it deserved all the Oscars it got. Then again, I’m still bitter abut Chariots of Fire winning “best musical score” over Raiders of the Lost Ark back in 1979…
